Tuesday 23rd June..............hot,hot,HOT!!!!

Whist having a few beers, myself and Pete had decided to give the river a good go in the week. We arranged to meet outside Petes house at 09:00hrs. This was brought forward to 07:00hrs because the weather forecast was fantastic and we were both keen to catch our first Barbel of the season!!

I arrived at Mr lushers house at bang on 07:00hrs, which was somewhat of a suprise as I'm not exactly an early bird.Pete was stood outside with his, seemingly, ever increasing pile of fishing tackle.

Opening day of the season - Night with Pete

This picture was taken on my 1st all nighter of the season!!

Well, the season is up and running. Sadly not exactly running for me!! I fished from dead on midnight till 07:00hrs on the 16th June, and caught nothing at all.

My plans for the new season

Well, the new season is nearly upon me and I can't wait.
I've been looking into changes I could make to the way I fish and the takcle I choose to use. I have met some fantastic people on Facebook (See -  River Severn Barbel Fishing Group) and seem to be learning alot.
People have been discussing different baits and the different ways to use them, tackle, where is best to fish. I'm trying to soak it all up and pass as much as I can onto everyone!

Ideas on Baits and how to use them??!

Hi all. This is my first ever blog as part of my new site!! So here goes. OK, we've all use pellets now, meat is a regular and so are maggots. I've tried lots of different boilies too! Does anyone have any tips on how to use these baits more effectively?
